If recreational cannabis is coming to California we need to consider the issues Colorado is facing.
One of which is the absence of places where locals and tourists can consume without fear of arrest.
Amsterdam has the coffee shop model, which for whatever reason, seems to scare our community leaders. Yet theirs is the only working model from which to draw from and gives us a basis to evaluate its possible implementation in the US.
Some people are banned from smoking or vaping in their homes and are left without a place to legally consume in Colorado.
Does California want to create a huge influx of green tourists only to have them left without a place they can enjoy the earths bounty?
The San Francisco bay area has many wineries and tourist attractions and when paired with cannabis tourism will become a mecca for all things marijuana. We need to prepare and learn from the mistakes of the other states that have gone before us.
Are we willing to consider smoking lounges and marijuana bars?
What about bud and breakfast or marijuwineries?
While I don’t anticipate glass patios that extend across our rivers and serve wine and weed in the near future.
I do anticipate indoor lounges where people can gather and raise their glass in a toast, a toast to the end of prohibition.
